The Family Strengthening Programme Co-ordinator position requires you to be involved the annual planning of the programme’s activities in accordance with the needs and priorities of the local community in particular those of orphaned and vulnerable children and their families. Volunteers
The Volunteer Policy for SOS Children's Villages South Africa is currently under review. As an organisation we are not in a position to accept international volunteers, but we do welcome local volunteers on an individual basis. Some Villages have volunteers who run our Village libraries, some have sports coaches who assist with coaching on weekends, others have artists who offer art lessons and some local churches offer Bible study classes. The Family Strengthening Programmes encourage the involvement of community-based volunteers, to join in the Programme activities and participate in the long-term capacity building of community members. This ensures greater sustainability of the community programmes. If you are interested in assisting any facility as a Volunteer, please contact your nearest SOS Children's Village (see details under "Other contacts")
